Bordeaux booked their place in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League thanks to a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in Munich.A last minute strike from Marouane Chamakh and a Yoann Gourcuff goal eight minutes before the interval gave the Ligue 1 side their third straight win in the competition and now means that the Bavarian outfit must rely on the French side beating Juventus if they are to have any chance of progressing. In a cagey opening 45 minutes it was the home side who looked most likely to take the lead with Bastian Schweinsteiger's accuracy from dead balls giving the Bordeaux defence some problems but a goal mouth scramble shortly after the half hour mark was as close as they got to opening the scoring. Michael Ciani appeared to handle the ball on the line but the referee awarded a corner, much to Bayern's frustration. Then five minutes later Bayern found themselves a goal behind as Gourcuff got free of Mark van Bommel to head home and 1-0 it remained at the interval.Italian striker Luca Toni should have restored parity straight after the break but he skied a glorious chance over the bar from 12 yards and he could have atoned for the miss moments later but failed to latch onto a through ball from Schweinsteiger through ball.Arjen Robben, on as a half-time replacement for Miroslav Klose, added a new dimension to the Bayern attack and posed a serious threat but despite some fluid attacking moves the German side failed to create any gilt-edged opportunities.Laurent Blancs men were happy to restrict Bayern to shots from distance and hit them on the break. Just 12 minutes from time they almost had that all important two goal cushion but Gourcuff couldn't direct his shot on target.Entering the final stages of the game the home support had seen enough and began drifting out of the stadium and then in the last minute Bayern's fate was sealed when Chamakh raced clear of the Bayern defence and evaded Hans-Jorg Butt with ease before strolling the ball into an empty net to make it 2-0 and book Bordeaux's place in the last 16.It was a deserved victory for Les Girondins but the deafening whistles from the home support which greeted the final whistle told a tale as Bayern were simply not good enough on the night.

A stoppage time goal from Antonio Valencia earned Manchester United a draw, and qualification for the next stage of the Champions League in a 3-3 draw with CSKA Moscow. The Russian side had looked like escaping Old Trafford with all three points after goals from Allan Dzogoev, Milos Krasic and Vasili Berezutsky, while goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev was found in inspired form.Michael Owen had pulled United back into the game before Berezutsky's header extended CSKA's lead, but Paul Scholes and Valencia saw United level late in the gameThe visitors had two chances from distance in as many minutes through Dzogoev, who shot well over, and Deividas Semberas, whose low effort skidded wide off the damp Old Trafford turf.United responded almost immediately, as Antonio Valencia played a delightful one-two with Nani, before finding Owen inside the penalty area, but the striker failed to trouble Igor Akinfeev, shooting into his own legs.Owen spurned a further opportunity as the ball deflected into his path, but he poked straight at Akinfeev from close range. His strike partner for the night, Federico Macheda, came close with another shot from outside the penalty area, which was again narrowly wide of the target.United were made to rue their missed chances as CSKA went ahead through Dzogoev. The forward received the ball from the head of Tomas Necid was harried to the by-line by Johnny Evans, before finding van der Sar’s top left hand corner with a powerful strike across goal.
